1.gif - 49 Bytes There are more than 300 natural radioactive elements in the earth's crust, and together with cosmic radiation, they generate natural background radiation. In the destruction process of bedrock containing uranium and thorium, the radioactive rare gas radon is formed, and together with its destruction products, it provides more than half of the exposure to humans. In Latvia, a harmful level of radiation has not been observed, but still it is a potential threat.
