The development of the service sector since 1990 has been
impressive, from 32% of the GDP in 1990 to 70.2% of the GDP in
2000. Trade provides the greatest contribution to services, and it
supports the greatest share of the labour force. However, salaries
in the trade subsector are less than the average in the sector, as
is labour force productivity.
